The Madeleine Choir School, a mission of the Roman Catholic Bishop of Salt Lake City and a service of the Cathedral of the Madeleine, is an elementary school for children in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade Eight. Established in 1996, the school continues the cathedral tradition of preparing young people to engage the culture with the Catholic intellectual, artistic, moral and religious tradition. The Choir School pursues rigorous academic curricula in the humanities, mathematics and sciences, and the arts.

The Second Annual Opera Under the Stars: An Evening of Acclaimed Opera Performances will be held Friday, September 5, at The Gallivan Center, 36 East 200 South. Performances will include Choristers of The Madeleine Choir School, and George Dyer and Gregory Pearson, who recently performed with the Utah Symphony & Opera.

A private reception will be held from 7:30 to 8:30 with performances beginning at 8:30.  A suggested donation of $50 per person will benefit the November Performance Tour to Spain.  Black Tie Invited.  RSVP to 535-7780 by September 1.  This event is being generously sponsored by CBJ Security and The Gallivan Center.

  • Monday, September 8th: Formal Dress Uniform Begins; New Pre-K Uniform Begins

 

  • Monday, September 8th: Class Picture Day!!!  Wear your smiles!

 

  • Thursday, September 11th: Individual Pictures.  Students may wear a collared free dress shirt.  Choristers singing at the 5:15 pm Mass will need to bring a formal uniform.

 

  • Wednesday, September 24th: Bishop's Dinner for the Cathedral of the Madeleine.  We would love to see at least two tables full of Choir School families.  Please call the Cathedral at 328-8941 with your reservation (individual tickets are $150) and tell them that you are affiliated with The Madeleine Choir School.

Parents - earn money while you grocery shop!  Enroll in the Smith's Earn and Learn program, which contributes money to MCS for every dollar spent at Smith's.  This is an easy way to earn money for the school.  You have to enroll every year.  There are 3 easy ways to enroll.  You'll need your Fresh Values number (the number is under the barcode on your fresh values card):

The organization number for MCS is: 82131.  You'll also need this number to enroll.  You may only enroll one Fresh Values card for each number
