Capital Campaign

cc1.jpgThe Madeleine Choir School has flourished since its founding. An increasing number of students and parents are seeking this dynamic liberal arts education, first-rate science and technology curriculum and the internationally recognized choral training program that is unique to the Choir School. The School now is faced with the challenge of maintaining its current standards of excellence. The growing demand prompted the School Board to initiate an intensive strategic planning process to chart the school’s future. After extensive deliberations with parents, alumnae, teachers, administrators and community leaders, five primary objectives were identified:

  • Purchase a new campus to accommodate 300 young people, including kindergarten. This was accomplished in May 2002.
  • Restoration of Jacquelyn Marie Erbin Hall, providing a modern and safe educational facility in this architecturally significant building.
  • Construct a new field house to serve our growing physical education program.
  • Further campus enhancement and restoration.
  • Continued growth of endowment fund to provide student financial assistance and faculty development.

Lead Gift Donors

Jacquelyn Marie Erbin - Jackie Erbin’s heart was devoted to the health of children, in mind and body. As a parent, an aunt, a physician, and as a most generous person, she spent her energy for the happiness of young people. She had a strong commitment to schools where every child is given the opportunity to flourish.

Jane F. McCarthey - Jane was a strong believer in education. She contributed to a variety of private institutions, from grade schools to universities, and she favored Catholic education above all others. Jane's last project before her death was a new campus for The Madeleine Choir School.

Sir Daniel J. Donohue - As President of the Dan Murphy Foundation, Sir Daniel is committed to the promotion and development of Catholic education. The Choir School’s commitment to preserving and furthering the great tradition of choral music compelled him to provide a major gift toward the Phase I of the Capital and Endowment Campaign.

The Very Reverend Frederick Quinney Lawson - Fr. Rick is a community leader and ordained priest in the Anglican Communion.  As Dean of the St. Mark's Cathedral, he has made significant contributions to his faith. In addition, as an individual and in collaboration with his family, he has played a significant role in the success of arts and education programs throughout Utah.
