Learning in a History Setting

Phase I, the purchase of the new campus, was completed in May 2002. The former Rowland Hall- St. Mark’s lower school campus is now home to The Madeleine Choir School. The school is located on 2.1 acres, one full block in the historic lower Avenues area of Salt Lake City. The tree-lined campus is an ideal location; it fulfills the neighborhood’s hopes for an educational use on the property and offers a spacious home in which the school can grow. The campus is located directly northwest of the Cathedral of the Madeleine, providing safe and easy access to and from the Cathedral for the students.

The original adobe farmhouse on the site was built in 1862. Other historic structures were added over the decades. The new campus is being carefully designed by an architect specializing in preservation in order to complement the existing architecture and the surrounding residential neighborhood, while providing an inspiring learning environment for the students.
